Description

Summertime, and the living is easy on paradise Island. Grab yourself a beach chair and the latest volume of RED and head for the ocean. Volume 32 of RED: The Island Storybook launches the first week of July. You don’t want to miss it, it’s a good one.

Appearing for the first time in the pages of RED, hopefully not the last, is local comedian, writer, basketball coach, Patrick Ledwell. His story, Milk in the 80s, is sure to resonate with everyone who navigated the 80s as a child (in French baggies with poofy hair) and have you laughing out loud. We’re super excited to have Patrick on board.

In this volume we’ve launched a series titled RED Organic, dedicated to telling the stories of the Island’s organic farmers. Our first feature farmers are the folks at Ella’s Forest, an organic blueberry farm located in Fort Augustus.

In her regular RED column, PEI Untamed, Island Biologist extraordinaire Kate MacQuarrie talks about the return of the Island’s River Otter population. Hard to beat a good comeback story!

Hans Conner pitched us a great story about the early days of legendary Island rock group, the Rock Island Blues band.

Mille Clarkes tells a story, beautifully, about the making of her short film, Evelyn. Many of you would be familiar with Evelyn Christopher who appeared on the cover of RED volume 3. Now she is featured in a short film.

Sixty-four pages of fresh Island tales. Happy reading REDheads!

Back issues of Red Magazine are also available.
